Founded in 1499 by Cardinal Cisneros, this is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world.

Around 30,000 students enroll in its various faculties every year. Both the university and the historic center of Alcalá de Henares were declared World Heritage Sites on December 2, 1998. The University of Alcalá de Henares provides support to MADCUP 2021 with the objective of connecting sport, culture and knowledge.
