On Saturday, November 12, 2022, the Second Conference on Exercise & Cancer and nutrition was held by Educa-Med, sponsored by the pharmaceutical firm Bristol Myers Squibb, with the participation of MADCUP.

During the convention, 150 doctors, researchers, dieticians, nutritionists, physical trainers and physiotherapists participated in person and more than 1,900 connected by telematic means to discuss how a change in lifestyle by improving nutrition and physical exercise can improve the results of cancer treatments. Javier de Castro, head of the Medical Oncology Department at the Hospital Universitario La Paz and coordinator of the conference stated: «If the prevalence of cancer in Spain is slightly over 2.26 million people and only 30% of them carry out specific physical exercise programs, it is evident there is a need to continue training in these practices as part of the treatments since, although this has been proven, it is not fully implemented within the oncology community».
